James Madison University’s Facilities Management seeks a Senior Housekeeping Team Leader for the night shift (Tue–Sat, 10:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.). Overtime may be required for events; hours vary in summer.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding duties.
• Ability to work with industrial-strength cleaners and equipment.
• Ability to handle materials containing bloodborne pathogens.
• Ability to lead a small crew and manage time to meet schedules.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and basic customer service concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provides back-up to the supervisor and addresses minor performance issues.
• Leads a minimum of four custodians during daily activities and projects.
• Coordinates special projects with building coordinators (events, moves, summer cleans).
• Prepares work orders and requisitions for supplies and equipment.
• Performs regular and special cleaning of assigned areas.
• Follows university safety procedures and participates in trash/recycling program.
