Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of switchboard experience preferred.
• Hospital setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Relays incoming, outgoing and interoffice calls using the telephone switchboard.
• Relays information over paging and beeper systems as needed.
• Displays patience and tact when dealing with hospital personnel.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and department information.
• Responde s to Code Blue/Code Red emergencies and related alarms.
• Logs all information in the log book and trains new operators as assigned.
