Job summary

The Security Officer ensures the safety and security of patients, staff, visitors, and property by patrolling facilities, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding to security incidents. This role provides exceptional customer service while enforcing safety policies and maintaining a secure environment.

Night shift coverage includes weeknights and weekend nights; the position requires reliable attendance and collaboration with hospital staff and local authorities.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.
• Healthcare or hospital security experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; IHSS or Facility Security Officer certification preferred; state licensing as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Patrols facility, clinics, and grounds to deter unauthorized activity.
• Assists visitors with directions and escorts as needed.
• Monitors surveillance cameras and conducts property inspections.
• Investigates and documents security incidents and safety concerns.
• Responds to alarms and emergencies with appropriate action.
• Secures access points by locking doors after hours.
• Directs traffic, enforces parking, and assists during events.
• Collaborates with hospital staff and law enforcement when required.
• Completes incident reports and maintains logs accurately.
• Performs other duties as assigned; maintains reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
