Job summary

Cook County Health is seeking a Hospital Police Officer Registry for the 10:45 p.m. – 6:45 a.m. shift to help protect employees, patients and visitors at the hospital and its adjacent campus in Chicago.

This part-time registry position involves patrolling assigned areas, responding to incidents, completing incident reports, and coordinating with other law enforcement agencies; up to 18 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Certified Police Officer is required.
• Prior experience as a Certified Police Officer is required.
• Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License (provide at interview).
• Must possess a valid Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) card (provide at interview).
• Must not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor.

Responsibilities

• Protect Hospital employees, patients, and visitors within the hospital and campus.
• Patrol assigned areas and monitor crowds and traffic.
• Respond to incidents as they occur and complete reports.
• Liaise with other law enforcement agencies regarding crime conditions.
• Maintain status for annual certification requirements.
• Work up to 9 hours per day, up to 18 hours per week.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
