Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• IAHSS Basic exam within 90 days of hire.
• Maintain IAHSS Basic certification; BLS through American Heart Association within 9 months of hire.
• Complete Northwestern Medicine Defensive Tactics in Healthcare within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Investigates hospital incidents and disturbances to maintain security.
• Completes descriptive security reports.
• Notifies city officials and prepares detailed reports for supervisors.
• Patrols hospital buildings and grounds to protect patients and property.
• Monitors access control, alarms, and video surveillance.
• Controls traffic for emergencies and helicopter transports as needed.
• Assists with escorts for staff to vehicles.
• Responds to emergency codes per department guidelines.
• Enforces hospital policies and standards.
