Job summary

Cook County Health seeks a Hospital Police Officer Registry to protect staff, patients and visitors at John H. Stroger Hospital and adjacent campus. This exempt, part-time registry position offers up to 18 hours per week and a night shift from 10:45 p.m.

to 6:45 a.m., with duties including patrols, incident reporting, and coordination with outside law enforcement. Minimum qualifications include being a certified police officer, prior experience, a valid Illinois driver's license and FOID card,

Qualifications

• Certified Police Officer
• Prior experience as a Certified Police Officer
• Must possess a valid Illinois Driver's License (Must provide license at time of interview)
• Must possess a valid FOID card (Must provide original card at time of interview)
• Must not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor offense

Responsibilities

• Protects and ensures the safety of hospital employees, patients and visitors.
• Patrols assigned areas.
• Monitors crowds and traffic.
• Responds to incidents as they occur.
• Completes incident and other reports, as required.
• Liaises with other law enforcement agencies regarding crime conditions at CCH.
• Maintains annual certification requirements.
• Must be able to work up to 9 hours per day but no more than 18 hours per week.
