Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA seeks a Night Shift Housekeeper to support hospital cleaning needs. The role requires performing standard cleaning procedures across patient rooms, units, and common areas, moving furniture and preparing meeting spaces as needed.

The position is non-exempt, 40 hours weekly with 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM shifts, weekends on a rotating schedule. A signing bonus may be available; applicants must meet minimum requirements and join UFCW union.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and follow simple English instruction.
• Employees must be at least 18 years of age to perform this role.
• 3-6 months experience as a houseworker.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard cleaning procedures in all areas of the hospital and buildings to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
• Moves furniture and sets up meeting rooms as necessary.
• Burnishes floors with burnishers and cleans floors with automatic floor machines.
• Performs "check out" cleaning of discharges and transfer units including making of the beds.
• Picks up trash in any area and transports trash from utility rooms and other collection points to compactor pick up area.
