Job summary

Bristol Hospice in State College, PA is hiring a Registered Nurse for after-hours, nights and weekend coverage. You will provide compassionate hospice care, coordinate with a care team, and support patients and families during critical moments.

Ideal candidates are licensed RNs with hospice knowledge, flexible hours, and willing to travel within the Bristol Hospice service area. Travel and lifting requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with knowledge of hospice.
• Must have a current RN licensure in good standing.
• Must understand hospice philosophy and needs of the terminally ill.
• Must be flexible in work hours and able to travel.
• Must demonstrate basic computer data entry skills and software use.

Responsibilities

• Will perform after hours and weekend visits and admissions as needed.
• Direct calls to the DPCS, RN Clinical Supervisor/Manager or RN Case Manager as required.
• Dispatch field nurses and other staff to patient residence promptly.
• Refill prescriptions, order supplies and DME, assist in coordination.
• Document calls and outcomes in the call-in software system.
• Receive start-of-shift reports and give end-of-shift reports.
• All other duties as assigned.
