Job summary

Suncoast Hospice, part of Empath Health, is seeking a caring Hospice Care Center Registered Nurse to join our inpatient Care Centers in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. You will provide compassionate hospice care to terminally ill patients and their families, coordinate care, assess needs, manage symptoms, and educate families.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year bedside nursing, FL RN license, valid FL driver’s license, and flexibility to float.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year recent bedside nursing.
• Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse.
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License.
• Minimum of 1 year current active nursing experience; experience in terminally ill or life-threatening illnesses preferred.
• Prefer one year experience in acute or post-acute care.

Responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate patient/family needs and provide preventive and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit.
• Utilize assessment, intervention and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and enhance quality of life for the patient/family unit.
• Provide oversight and supervision of the LPNs and aides; float if needed.
