Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Histotechnician in Evanston, IL to support tissue preparation for microscopic evaluation. The role involves fixation, processing, embedding, and microtomy, with routine and special staining and IHC assistance as needed.

Qualifications include an associate degree or histotech program and ASCP certification preferred; hospital lab experience is also preferred. The position is Full Time Nights with rotating weekends at Saint Francis Hospital.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or histotechnology program completion required.
• HT/ASCP Certification preferred or equivalent.
• Minimum one year hospital laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination (fixation, processing, embedding, microtomy).
• Perform routine and special staining procedures per established protocols.
• Assist with immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining and related procedures.
• Ensure proper specimen identification and tracking throughout processing.
• Maintain equipment and participate in quality assurance activities.
