Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Management (HIM) data abstractor for the third shift in Milwaukee, WI within the Revenue Cycle lab data team. This full-time role emphasizes accurate documentation and secure PHI handling.

You will operate electronic health record systems, verify laboratory results, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and CLIA while maintaining timely, high-quality data entry in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient computer and keyboarding skills with the ability to learn new software systems such as Epic, ExtractLabDE, Solarity, OnBase, Microsoft 365 and legacy archives.
• Attention to detail and accuracy with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with time constraints.

Responsibilities

• Navigates EHR and computer applications to support patient care, care management initiatives, revenue cycle, and regulatory requirements.
• Receives, sorts, prepares, and scans documentation into the EHR per HIM procedures.
• Analyzes laboratory reports to ensure patient identifiers and compliance with CAP/CLIA/HIPAA.
• Identifies and releases laboratory tests, enters data into the EHR, and validates documentation.
