Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Security Officer for the Night Shift at Coordinated Health - 1503 Cedar Crest, Allentown, PA. The role protects patients, staff and visitors, patrols facilities, and responds to emergencies while coordinating with campus security assets.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and security-related experience or law enforcement academy completion.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED; 1 year security or related experience, or graduation from a law enforcement academy.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in critical decisions.
Knowledge of LVHN emergency codes and response protocols.
Ability to troubleshoot access control and alarm systems.
Proper use of security equipment and driving/procedural skills.

Responsibilities

Helps mitigate threats to safety of staff, patients, visitors and property.
Intervenes when suspicious or abnormal behavior is observed or reported.
Conducts internal and external patrols of hospital and grounds; reports hazards.
Maintains and operates vehicles and shuttles safely and cleanly.
Performs initial inquiries for administrative or potential criminal complaints.
Responds to coded alarms and provides escorted security when requested.
Assists with evacuations in emergencies requiring strength and flexibility.
Maintains high visibility to deter undesired activity and provide assistance.
