Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA is seeking a motivated Per Diem Night Shift candidate to join our nursing team. This role supports patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, delivers reliable service, and helps maintain the unit environment and patient flow.

You will perform a range of advanced patient care duties, assist with daily living activities, document care in the medical record, and coordinate with the care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college-level health sciences program (e.g., PA, Biology, Medical Assistant)
• Other related health sciences fields

Responsibilities

• Provide enhanced patient care under the direction of the licensed nurse, including advanced dressing care, suctioning, and catheter removal
• May perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens per CLSI guidelines
• Assist with daily living activities and ongoing continuum of care, including hygiene and linens
• Document in the medical record and coordinate with the care team to ensure accurate patient information
• Obtain and maintain specimen integrity and transport to the laboratory
• Provide one-to-one patient safety watch as assigned
• Coordinate transportation of patients to multiple tests
• Schedule tests and communicate with other departments as needed
• Assist with supplies ordering and handling routine clerical tasks
• Serve as a preceptor/mentor for new staff and students
