Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a full-time Inpatient Registered Nurse to join their team at the Geisinger Medical Center. This position requires working night shifts (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), with every other weekend and holiday involved. The role focuses on providing compassionate and direct patient care, coordinating care with team members, and fulfilling specific nursing responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have a degree from a nursing specialty program and a valid RN license in Pennsylvania. The position offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and tuition reimbursement up to $5,000 per calendar year.

Responsibilities

• Assesses plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates nursing activities to meet patient needs.
• Promotes adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve safety and satisfaction.
• Provides compassionate care during patient-nurse interactions.
• Coordinates patient care and staff interactions.
• Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies per policy and procedure.
• Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care based on response.
• Initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Problem solves, troubleshoots, and takes corrective measures in equipment handling.
• Participates in unit-based decision-making regarding evidence-based practice.
• Actively engages as a team member toward unit and organizational goals.
• Participates in patient quality and safety education programs and activities.
