Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Dock Worker to move freight between trailers and dock areas, operating forklift, pallet jack, and hand trucks as needed. You will verify freight documentation and secure loads inside trailers to ensure safe, efficient transfers.

The role requires basic math, strong teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Starting pay is $21.16 per hour, with a night shift from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM, in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule experience a plus.
• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on a dock.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify freight documentation matches description.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets and straps.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required reports and documentation.
• Assist customers with freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Adhere to laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
