Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a dock worker to move freight across the dock area to and from trailers. You will operate forklift and pallet jack, verify freight documentation, and secure loads inside trailers to ensure safe transport.

Shift 1600-2100; starting pay is $22.77 per hour with a range up to $26.64. Prior warehouse or forklift experience is preferred, along with the ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and handle heavy freight.

Responsibilities

• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
• Verify documentation matches freight description and weight.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
