Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a Freight Handler for 1st/2nd shift in Nashville, TN. The role involves loading, unloading, staging, and moving freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE, with a base pay of $20.00/hour plus a $3.00/hour night shift differential.

Qualified candidates will have 3+ years dock/warehouse experience, forklift certification, and ability to work 8–12 hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure required.
• 3+ years of dock/warehouse experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, to understand safety instructions and freight documentation.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and carry freight as required; physical stamina for 8–12 hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Stage, move, and position freight between dock doors and trailers.
• Scan and track freight with handheld devices and company systems.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Mentor junior material handlers and support dock productivity.
