Job summary
Michigan Turkey Producers Co-op in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a 3rd Shift Machine Maintenance Technician to perform hands-on preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on plant equipment in a food processing environment. Reporting to the Maintenance and Refrigeration Manager, you will lead by example, coach other technicians, and ensure compliance with USDA, HACCP, GMFP, and company standards.
Responsibilities include scheduling and executing maintenance within budget, tracking parts usage,
Qualifications
- Journeyman or accredited certification in machine repair is required.
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting including PLC and VFD.
- Ability to weld stainless steel to food-grade standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance software.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment in a timely and safe manner.
- Respond to line calls and prioritize downtime.
- Track parts usage and order replacements within budget.
- Manage contracted projects from start to finish.
- Assist Refrigeration Specialists as required; participate in HAZMAT.
