Job summary

Michigan Turkey Producers Co-op in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Maintenance Lead Technician to lead non-production maintenance, drive safety, and ensure uptime across plant equipment. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and project management under the Maintenance Manager.

The ideal candidate has journeyman certification or equivalent, PLC/VFD expertise, and the ability to train staff, work with safety standards, and support refrigeration and HazMat

Qualifications

Journeyman or accredited certification in machine repair.
Electrical troubleshooting with PLC and VFD experience.
TIG welds stainless steel to food-grade standards.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills. PPE required as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, rebuilds and projects on plant equipment.
Respond to line calls in a professional, safe, timely manner.
Track parts usage and order replacements within budget.
Manage contracted projects from start to finish; assist Refrigeration Specialists.
Participate in HAZMAT and uphold safety standards.
