Job summary

Michigan Turkey Producers Co-op in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Maintenance Lead Technician for a hands-on, non-production role. You will perform preventive maintenance, emergency repairs and projects on plant equipment under the Maintenance and Refrigeration Manager.

This position requires leading by example through training and coaching of other technicians. Qualifications include a Journeyman or accredited certification in machine repair, PLC/VFD troubleshooting, and TIG welding to food-grade

Qualifications

• Journeyman certification or accredited certification in machine repair is required.
• Electrical troubleshooting with PLC and VFD experience is required.
• TIG welds stainless steel to food-grade standards and safety PPE are required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, rebuilds, and projects on all plant equipment.
• Provide training and coaching to other technicians.
• Respond to line calls in a professional, safe, and timely manner; prioritize down equipment.
• Track parts usage and order replacement parts within budget.
• Manage contracted projects from start to finish.
• Assist Refrigeration Specialists as required; participate in HazMat activities.
