Job summary

UPS in Redmond, Washington is seeking a reliable Automotive Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team. The Automotive Technician will maintain a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy‑duty tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers, with propulsion systems from diesel to hybrid and electric in some locations.

The role requires 3–5 years of Journeyman automotive experience, hands-on use of diagnostic tools, and DOT inspection know-how.

Qualifications

• Current documented 3–5 years of Journeyman Automotive Mechanic experience working with medium and heavy‑duty vehicles.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and PC.
• Hands‑on experience with fleet repairs and/or dealership environments.
• Experience performing DOT inspections in trucks.
• Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis.
• Available to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.
• Wears PPE as required and works in variable conditions.

Responsibilities

• Meets D.O.T requirements for the job assignment.
• Performs physical tasks including bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders as needed.
• Operates standard and manual transmissions.
• Operates power and pneumatic tools.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness in work environment.
