Job summary

UPS is seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join our fleet maintenance team. This role maintains a diverse range of equipment including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers, with propulsion systems including diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies.

You will troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls. Must have an active driver’s license and be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts.

Qualifications

• Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer.
• Possesses full complement of personal hand tools.
• Class A/B or A CDL – Preferred.
• Dependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis.
• Available to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.
• Wears PPE as required.
• Works in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity, exposure to chemicals and noise.

Responsibilities

• Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
• Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday
• Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday
• Operates standard and manual transmission
• Operates power and pneumatic tools
