Job summary

UPS Automotive Technician position on the fleet maintenance team. The role involves maintaining a range of delivery vehicles with diesel, gasoline, and alternative powertrains, including hybrids and electric systems, and troubleshooting brakes, electrical and engine control systems.

The role requires hands-on tool use, reliability, and ability to work nights and weekends on a rotating schedule. UPS offers competitive wages, benefits, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer.
• Possesses full complement of personal hand tools.
• Works full time shifts: 8-10 hours per day, 4-5 days per 7-day week.
• Dependable with ability to report to work regularly and complete scheduled workday.
• Willing to work varying shifts and overtime as needed.
• Wears PPE as required.
• Works in a variable environment with heat, dust, and noise.

Responsibilities

• Meets DOT requirements as required by job assignment.
• Operate standard and manual transmission vehicles.
• Operate power and pneumatic tools.
• Maintain and troubleshoot truck fleet equipment.
