Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health’s RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick in New Jersey seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. This part-time night shift (7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.) offers opportunities to contribute to high-quality patient care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

You will perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, document in EPIC, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced ED setting. NJ RN license and BLS required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing with BLS required.
• 1 year of Emergency Department or acute care RN experience required; BSN strongly preferred or to be completed within 5 years of hire.
• PALS, TNCC and ACLS certifications preferred or to be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening when needed.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and provide hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers to support timely, coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families clearly to ensure understanding and preparation for next steps.
• Document accurately in the EMR to promote continuity and safety.
