Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick. This part-time night shift role involves running patient assessments, coordinating care with physicians, and delivering evidence-based treatments in a fast-paced ED setting.

You will document in EPIC, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing
• Current BLS Certification
• 1 year of Emergency Department or acute care RN experience required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred or must be completed within 5 years of hire
• PALS, TNCC and ACLS preferred or to be obtained within 6 months of employment
• EMR experience with EPIC preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening early
• Provide safe medications, treatments, and hands-on care
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for timely, coordinated care
• Educate patients and families to ensure understanding of next care steps
• Document accurately in the EMR to promote continuity and safety
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to drive communication and transitions of care
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture and pursue ongoing professional growth
