RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at New Brunswick for night shifts. The role emphasizes rapid assessment, safe care delivery, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and efficient transitions of care.

Ideal candidates hold NJ RN licensure with BLS, have ER/acute care experience, and are prepared for BSN within 5 years. Additional certifications (PALS/TNCC/ACLS) are preferred and may be required within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing and BLS.
• 1 year ER or acute care RN experience required.
• BSN strongly preferred or must be completed within 5 years of hire.
• PALS, TNCC and ACLS preferred or obtained within 6 months of employment.
• 2-3 years ER/acute care experience preferred; familiarity with EPIC EMR.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers for timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to smooth transitions.
• Engage in a collaborative team environment and pursue ongoing education.
