RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department at University Hospital New Brunswick. The role requires an active NJ RN license, a BLS certification, and ER/acute care experience.

You will deliver high‑quality patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support education for patients and families. The position is part‑time night shift, 24 hours per week, with weekend and holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• 1 year of Emergency Department or acute care RN experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred or to be completed within 5 years of hire.
• PALS, TNCC and ACLS preferred or to be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Administer medications and provide hands‑on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for coordinated care.
• Educate patients and families to prepare for next care steps.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure safety and continuity.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and promote clear communication.
