Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide Basic Life Support for emergency and non-emergency calls, triage and transport patients, and coordinate with EMS, police, and hospital teams.

Requires NJ EMT (or NR-EMT), BLS, valid driver's license, and strong written/verbal communication. Night shift roles include a $4,000 sign-on bonus for full-time EMTs starting by 11/04/2026.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• NJ EMT certification (or NR EMT) and BLS required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive emergency vehicles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide Basic Life Support for emergency and non-emergency requests.
• Assure safe and prompt transportation of patients.
• Complete patient care reports on each call.
• Collaborate with police, fire, EMS and hospital staff.
• Follow NJ regulations and HM protocols for BLS services.
