Job summary

Colorado State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital is seeking an overnight Client Care Coordinator for the Emergency and Critical Care Services. You will be the first reassuring face for clients and guide them through urgent care with compassion and clear communication.

The role requires coordinating patient access, triaging emergencies, preparing estimates, managing prescriptions, and supporting clinicians and students.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service in a fast-paced, client-facing role.
• Ability to work a full-time overnight schedule onsite, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• The candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States; the department will not sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for clients and referring veterinarians via in-person, phone, voicemail, and email inquiries, providing visit information and compassionate client care.
• Coordinate and manage patient access to care by triaging emergencies, scheduling appointments, preparing financial estimates and consent forms, and managing prescriptions and daily schedules with the team.
• Provide education and emotional support to clients, including grief and euthanasia protocols, guiding families through difficult situations.
• Maintain medical records and referral workflows by organizing and uploading records, initiating referrals, and communicating patient status updates to referring providers.
• Lead veterinary student onboarding and service orientation, providing materials, conducting sessions, and ensuring students are prepared to function within the service.
• Develop and enforce service administrative SOPs, manage service emails, and distribute operational information to staff and volunteers.
• Support service recovery and interdepartmental coordination by investigating incidents, following up with clients, and maintaining continuity of care.
• Perform other related duties to support hospital operations as needed.
