Job summary

Frederick Health Hospital, Inc. seeks a part-time Emergency Department Tech to support adult patient care under RN supervision in a fast-paced ED.

The role includes vital signs, cardiac monitoring, venipuncture, IV access, and aiding in transfer and discharge preparation in a Magnet-recognized hospital. Qualified candidates hold a BLS certification, Maryland CNA, and complete departmental competencies within one year.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology.
• BLS certification is required.
• CNA certification from the Maryland Board of Nursing is required by Health Occupations Article Title 8-6A-01.
• Completion of skill competency checklists.
• Completion of departmental competencies within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record patient vitals and weight.
• Assist patients with privacy and basic needs under RN supervision.
• Initiate monitoring and perform 12-lead EKGs as directed.
• Perform venipuncture and establish IV access as directed.
• Assist in morgue care and patient transfers.
• Support discharge or transfer preparation and prepare patient areas.
