Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care in the Emergency Department under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role includes taking vital signs, assisting with patient comfort and mobility, monitoring devices, and performing basic procedures in line with policy.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology.
• Current certification in BLS.
• CNA certification from the Maryland Board of Nursing.
• Completion of skill competency checklists within hire.
• Completion of departmental competencies within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record patient’s vital signs and weight.
• Assist patients with disrobing while protecting privacy.
• Initiate cardiac monitoring and assist with 12 Lead EKGs.
• Perform venipuncture and establish IV access as directed.
• Assist with morgue care and patient transfers to diagnostic areas.
• Prepare patient areas for discharge or transfer.
• Operate equipment per guidelines and assist in Code Blue/Go Teams.
• Demonstrate phone etiquette and contribute to cost-effective care.
