Job summary

Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO is seeking an Emergency Dept Patient Care Tech (PCT) to support the RN/LPN in delivering individualized patient care during night shifts. This role emphasizes teamwork and compassionate care in a fast-paced department.

You will complete a 175-hour training if needed, obtain BLS within a month, and finish PCT competencies within 3 months. Lifting up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing are routine; EMT/CPCT certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPCT or enrollment in a healthcare career program through high school curriculum, and/or a current co-worker of Mercy.
• Mercy provides a 175-hour training program if no prior experience, to be completed within 90 days of hire.
• BLS certification required within one month of hire; CPCT competencies within 3 months of hire.
• Physical requirements include lifting 50 pounds, prolonged standing/walking, and ability to squat, bend, and reach.
• Preferred experience: EMT, Paramedic, or prior patient care; preferred CNA/EMT/AUA/CPCT certifications.

• Work cooperatively with the team to achieve patient wellness goals.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to patient care.
