Job summary

Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the Emergency Department. Under close supervision, you will perform phlebotomy, run 12-lead EKGs, and monitor patients, supporting physicians and nurses in delivering timely care.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and MO licenses (CPCT-A, CNA or EMT); BLS is required. Candidates should have six months of direct patient care experience and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licensed CPCT-A, CNA or EMT in Missouri.
• Minimum 6 months direct patient care experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy.
• Perform 12 lead EKGs.
• Transport patients to other departments.
• Place patients on cardiac and vital sign monitor.
• Perform Point of Care Testing.
• Obtain lab specimens and document care provided.
• Order/stock department supplies.
• Clerical tasks as required.
• Demonstrate positive customer service relations.
• Routinely participates in QI projects and encourages department to continuously improve.
• Assist co-workers as needed/requested.
• Support the Medical Center’s Mission/Vision/Philosophy positively.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Perform other essential duties as assigned.
