Job summary

Maine Medical Center Portland is seeking an Emergency Department Technician II to support the healthcare team during night shifts. You will assist with vital signs, pulse oximetry, EKG, phlebotomy, and basic patient care under RN guidance, stock supplies, and help track patients.

The role requires EMT-Advanced or EMT-Basic, Medical Assistant or CNA certification and BLS, with at least six months of ED tech experience. Flexible scheduling and benefits are provided by MaineHealth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• EMT-Advanced, EMT-Basic, Medical Assistant, or CNA certification required; Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• Six (6)+ months of experience as an Emergency Department Technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vital signs, pulse oximetry, EKG, phlebotomy and other basic patient care under RN guidance.
• Stock, organize, and stock supplies; assist with patient tracking and results retrieval.
• Orient new team members and students and provide educational offerings in unit.
• Support department activities as directed by nursing staff.
