Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Emergency Department Tech/Unit Coordinator for the night shift in Louisville, KY. The role provides clinical patient care support under RN direction and handles clerical duties, phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, trauma care and respiratory functions.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with patient movements, transports, and ensuring accurate documentation within multiple hospital systems. ED experience is preferred and BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED (required).
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT training program (preferred).
• Nursing students who completed Fundamentals of Nursing course from an accredited school (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Measures and documents intake, output, heights, weights and vital signs.
• Performs safety checks and documents patient care and mobility needs.
• Transports patients, lab work, specimens and blood.
• Performs venipuncture and routine 12-lead EKG as directed by RN.
• Sets up and disassembles patient charts and records in hospital systems.
• Assists MDs and NPs with procedures and sterile field setups.
• Transcribes orders and ensures accurate documentation in computer systems.
