Job summary

Mount Carmel New Albany Emergency Department in Ohio is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to provide patient care during three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with rotating weekends and holidays. The role emphasizes compassionate care aligned with our mission and core values, under Trinity Health’s guidance.

The position requires high school completion, completion of approved courses including EKG and phlebotomy, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalency.
• Licensure/ Certification: Successful completion of an approved course including basic patient care skills, EKG phlebotomy, and BLS.

Responsibilities

• Responds to patient needs in a timely manner.
• Transportation and patient escort.
• Performs visual acuity, eye irrigations and equipment setups.
• Performs phlebotomy and obtains lab specimens as ordered.
• Follows protocols and participates in trauma, stroke, sepsis alerts and resuscitation.
• Performs wound care and sterile technique.
• Performs suture and staple removal (excluding facial region).
• Performs Foley care and collects specimens.
• Performs EKG.
