Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, seeks a Registered Nurse for a new grad option in the Emergency Department. The split shift includes nights 7p–7a, 24 hours at Lewis Center and 12 hours at Main Campus, with every other weekend and holiday rotations.

You will provide patient-centered care, assess needs, communicate care priorities, and document per policy. Ohio RN license, BSN preferred, CPR, and willingness to obtain NRP, PALS, ACLS or APHON certifications are required or

Qualifications

• BSN required; Ohio RN license required.
• Current CPR certification; willingness to obtain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other certification as determined by manager.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
• Assesses individualized patient needs.
• Communicates patient care needs and priorities to LPNs, PCAs, Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health staff.
• Plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
• Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring patient and family needs.
• Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
