Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking an Emergency Department EMT to support nurses, PAs and physicians with routine procedures and patient care in a fast-paced ED setting.

The role requires an EMT certificate or Paramedic certification, BLS, and the ability to handle infant through adult patients. The shift is 12/36 with a 7 PM start and a 7:30 AM end. This position operates under SEIU CBA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• AHA BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
• Current San Diego County EMT or Paramedic certificate required upon hire.
• NVCI certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
• Annual CEUs minimum of 10 related to work required.

Responsibilities

• Assist RNs, PAs or physicians with simple procedures and patient care.
• Assist with splinting, casting, immobilizing of patient extremities.
• Assist with transporting patients to and from the ED.
• Perform daily unit equipment checks and logs to meet JCAHO/DHS requirements.
• Assist with inventory, stocking, and ordering of supplies and equipment.
