Job summary

Edward-Elmhurst Health's Elmhurst Hospital is seeking a Night shift Patient Care Technician to support the Emergency Department team. This full-time role covers 7:00 pm–7:30 am with a 36-hour week, requiring dedication to patient comfort, safety and timely care under RN supervision.

The ideal candidate holds CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross), EMT-B preferred, and has completed a nursing assistant program or gained related patient-care experience.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Preferred EMT-B certification.
• Experience: successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training course or minimum six months of previous patient care experience or equivalent or completion of one nursing clinical rotation or successful completion of EMT-B course.
• Successful completion of care Companion Course within six months of hire when course is required by the department.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork and the ability to prioritize and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Tech, under the directions of a Registered Nurse (RN), performs patient care tasks and procedures necessary to provide for the care, comfort and safety of patients.
