Job summary

Sharp HealthCare in Oceanside, California seeks an Emergency Department EMT to support nurses and physicians by performing basic patient care for infants through adults under RN direction. The shift runs 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with an every-other-weekend pattern and a 12/36 hour schedule, under a SEIU CBA.

Required: high school diploma and AHA BLS certification; strong English communication; preferred 2 years in an emergency department with additional certifications within required timelines.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - REQUIRED.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (oral and written).
• Preferred: 2 years in an emergency department.

Responsibilities

• Assist RNs, PAs or physicians with simple procedures and patient care.
• Provide or assist with splinting, casting, immobilization of extremities.
• Transport patients as needed to and from the ED.
• Complete daily unit equipment checks and logs to meet requirements.
• Assist with inventory, stocking, and ordering of supplies.
