Job summary

Edward-Elmhurst Health’s Highland Park Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Department night shift (7pm–7:30am) with a 36-hour week and rotating weekends. The role requires CNA training or completion, BLS certification, and strong teamwork and communication skills.

You will assist with patient care, monitor charts, and use basic computer systems; lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. PPE is provided; benefits include tuition reimbursement, PTO, and health plans.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the US and able to meet job requirements.
• Completion of an accredited CNA training program preferred.
• Current BLS certification or able to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nursing team with patient care activities per plan of care.
• Monitor patient status, read/record patient charts, and communicate clearly.
• Utilize patient movement equipment for transfers when non-emergency; PPE as required.
