Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Texas seeks an experienced registered nurse to join the ED - Admission Holds team. The role supports adult med/surg and IMU patients in a high-volume ED within a Magnet-designated center at the Texas Medical Center. Night shifts 7pm-7am; competitive salary and PTO.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, education, charting, and collaboration with physicians. Ideal candidate: BSN with 2+ years in IMU/Med Surg or ED holds.

Qualifications

• RN I < 1 year experience
• RN II 1–3 years experience
• RN III 3–10 years experience
• RN IV 10+ years experience
• Effective oral and written communication

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and appropriate care per nursing skills inventory and patient needs.
• Coordinates nursing care with interdisciplinary team and makes clinical decisions.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes.
• Develops and implements discharge and transfer plans.
• Participates in program evaluation, process improvement and patient outcomes.
• Considers diverse patient needs across the continuum of care, providing high-quality service.
• Adheres to regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards.
• Performs additional duties within scope and competency.
• Ensures safety for patients, staff and visitors per policies and budgets.
• Promotes professional growth through ongoing education and mentoring.
