Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Texas is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our ED - Admission Holds team. This role involves caring for adult med/surg and IMU patients awaiting inpatient beds within a fast-paced ED that is part of a level 1 trauma center and Magnet-designated hospital.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN with 2+ years of IMU/ED experience or admission holds experience, with Night shift 7p-7a.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Current State of Texas license or a temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and appropriate care to patients according to nursing skills and patient needs.
• Coordinates nursing care with an interdisciplinary team and makes clinical decisions.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to achieve positive patient outcomes using evidence-based standards.
• Plans and participates in discharge and transfer planning.
• Engages in ongoing evaluation of programs and process improvements.
• Adheres to regulatory standards and Memorial Hermann policies; maintains safety and quality.
