Job summary

SunOpta's Midlothian, TX plant is seeking a Downline Operator I to join the night shift on a 2-2-3 pattern from 6 pm to 6:30 am. You will operate and learn packaging equipment, monitor quality, and support maintenance while adhering to GMPs and safety procedures.

This role requires stand-up, lifting up to 50 lbs, and accurate record-keeping. Responsibilities include assisting with shift transitions, maintaining clean work areas, and communicating effectively with the production team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Working knowledge of math and computers.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
• Ability to set priorities in order to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work with limited supervision.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complex issues.
• Must have good personal hygiene.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills lending to a team environment.
• Must stand for 12 hours and lift up to 50 lbs; physically capable for a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate Downline Packaging equipment and learn basic coder functionality.
• Ensure efficient operation and support maintenance activities.
• Follow written and verbal instructions to meet quality and efficiency standards.
• Take responsibility for safety, quality and plant performance.
• Fill in for vacations or absences.
• Maintain clean and organized area and accurate paperwork.
• Relieve others for breaks and assist in maintenance tasks.
• Monitor materials and equipment for jams and faults.
• Wear PPE when required.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
