Job Description

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Night Shift Distribution Center Manager to supervise, organize, lead, and control all distribution and fabrication functions. The goal is to achieve high shipping standards at the lowest cost without compromising quality and safety. The manager ensures proper documentation of receivings, maintains adequate manpower, and enforces policies and process improvements through staff development and communication.

Hours: 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Ensure execution of daily shipping schedules based on customer orders and product availability.
  2. Promote safe work practices, conduct periodic safety reviews, and ensure safety compliance.
  3. Perform daily audits including 5S activities, policy adherence, and performance trends to identify improvements.
  4. Recommend improvements in shipping methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
  5. Monitor inventory levels and adjust control and scheduling as needed.
  6. Inspect outbound loads for accuracy, labeling, and quality, and ensure proper loading procedures.
  7. Minimize inbound freight damages and expedite replacements.
  8. Establish and implement receiving procedures and monitor inbound freight documentation.
  9. Ensure raw materials are available and properly stored for production needs.
  10. Develop efficient warehousing plans and maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
  11. Implement forklift training programs, certify operators, and monitor safety.
  12. Manage staffing, including hiring, evaluation, motivation, counseling, and discipline.
  13. Address work problems and motivate staff to meet goals.
  14. Maintain accurate records of shipping, receiving, and attendance.
  15. Oversee department paperwork and reporting.
  16. Participate in training and communicate effectively with all associates.
  17. Encourage and audit 5S principles on the production floor.
  18. Analyze issues related to quality, safety, costs, and efficiency, and implement improvements.
  19. Support Customer Service with shipping schedules and communicate delays or variances.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred.
  • At least 3 years in shipping/warehousing/inventory control, with 2 in a supervisory role.
  • Strong human relations and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and safety documentation.
  • Above-average math skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including email usage.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and perform daily paperwork.
