Job summary

Verland in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide Exceptional Care to residents with complex needs. This hourly, non-exempt role requires lifting and assisting with daily living activities and transport in Verland vehicles.

Two weekends overnight shifts 12am-8am, part-time 16 hours. 2 weeks paid training provided by Verland to educate new hires on daily living skills and personal development goals essential to improve daily lives of residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift and transfer without restrictions.
• Must pass a complete Background, Physical, and Drug screening.
• Experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Enrich and support residents' lives while maintaining a safe environment.
• Introduce and encourage skill development through activities.
• Record observations and daily progress notes.
• Participate in planning social, home, and recreational activities.
• Assist with meals, housekeeping, and laundry as needed.
• Transport clients to appointments and activities in Verland vehicles.
• Assist with personal hygiene and dressing.
