Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Dallas to keep our fleet running smoothly by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring timely repairs.

The role requires reading precision instruments, welding as needed, and adherence to DOT/EPA/ICC/OSHA standards. Candidates should have high school or equivalent, tools, and CDL as applicable, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Education: High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience as maintenance technician or equivalent education.
• Experience with truck repair, body and frame repair.
• Must provide own tools to perform job duties.
• Ability to complete required paperwork and records.
• CDL when required.
• Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Willing to participate in training classes offered by the company.
• Willing to take tests for management and classification.
• Maintain superior customer relations.
• Willing to work on any rolling stock as directed.

Responsibilities

• Build, rebuild and repair all parts of company equipment as required.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical or other breakdowns on trucks or related equipment.
• Read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, voltmeters, etc.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of components and systems.
• Weld as needed to complete truck repairs (horizontally/vertically in some cases).
• Comply with DOT, EPA, ICC and OSHA rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
