Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a skilled B-Tech Diesel Mechanic for the Stockbridge, GA facility. You will perform maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty diesel and CNG fleets, aligning with safety standards and DOT requirements.

The role emphasizes diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and collaboration with senior technicians on complex repairs, with a 2:00 PM – 2:00 AM night shift on a 4x12 schedule.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in heavy-duty diesel or CNG vehicle maintenance.
• Valid Brake Safety Inspection Certificate.
• EPA 609 Certification.
• CDL (Class A or B) preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• ASE certifications (Diesel, Brakes, Steering & Suspension).
• Proficiency with diagnostic software, electrical schematics, and hydraulic system repair.
• Must possess a personal toolset adequate for B-Tech repair operations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Repair: perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty diesel and CNG systems.
• Preventative Maintenance: complete scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and brake system checks.
• System Troubleshooting: use diagnostic software to read codes, isolate faults, and execute repairs.
• Safety & Compliance: enforce OSHA, DOT, and internal safety protocols.
• Administrative Documentation: maintain digital work orders and update maintenance logs daily.
• Shop Upkeep & Mentorship: keep the shop clean and mentor junior techs.
