Job summary

Jobtailor in Stockbridge, GA is seeking an experienced heavy-duty diesel and CNG technician. You will perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty engines and CNG systems under minimal supervision.

You will complete scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and brake checks, and use advanced diagnostic software to read codes, isolate faults, and execute precision repairs, while maintaining digital work orders and logs daily.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in heavy-duty diesel or CNG vehicle maintenance
• Valid Brake Safety Inspection Certificate
• EPA Section 609 A/C System Certification
• Active Class A or B CDL preferred, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
• ASE certifications in Diesel, Brakes, Steering & Suspension preferred
• Proficiency with diagnostic software, electrical schematics, and hydraulic system repair
• Personal toolset adequate for B-Tech repair operations
• Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders, and working in tight engine compartments
• Sustained visual and mental alertness for diagnostic testing and safe shop operations
• Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located; GFL does not provide visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines and CNG systems under minimal supervision
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and brake system checks
• Use advanced diagnostic software to read codes, isolate faults, and execute precision repairs
• Enforce OSHA, DOT, and internal GFL safety protocols
• Maintain accurate digital work orders, track replacement parts, and update maintenance logs daily
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment
• Collaborate with senior technical leadership to refine repair skills
