Job summary

TEKsystems in Hillsboro, OR is seeking Data Center Operations Technicians for a contract role on site. You will support a cutting-edge data center environment, move and rack equipment, diagnose hardware, and collaborate with network teams to ensure uptime.

Night shift schedule 4x10s (8:00 PM–7:00 AM) with Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday options. Candidates should have at least 2 years of data center experience, strong documentation, and a hands-on break/fix mindset.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of data center technician experience.
Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and isolating server hardware issues.
Hands-on break/fix troubleshooting in a data center environment.

Responsibilities

Move servers, switches, and related equipment to designated locations.
Inspect hardware for damage prior to deployment.
Perform smoke testing and basic validation of server functionality.
Rack, stack, and configure servers, switches, and data center equipment.
Install and manage structured cabling according to wire maps and standards.
Collaborate with network teams to validate connectivity and installation accuracy.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and isolate server hardware issues.
Perform break/fix activities in a production data center.
Decommission and remove equipment from racks and data center spaces.
